Missing and found animals

Someone has been looking for their cat since last night. Two streets away an unfamiliar cat has been sitting on a terrace since last night. Both report it somewhere — and nobody puts the two notes side by side. That is exactly what we do here: every new report is compared against all open ones, by species, distance, date and description.

Is the animal injured?

Then please do not report it here, but through the emergency button — that goes straight to the on-call team. This list is for animals that are otherwise doing all right.

Why there are no phone numbers here

Because a list saying “dog found, here is my number” attracts exactly the people a found animal needs protecting from. Anyone who wants to respond to a report contacts us. We then ask for something only the actual owner can know — a scar, a vet visit, the microchip number — and only then make the connection.

Reports disappear from the list by themselves after 120 days. A four-month-old search report helps nobody any more and makes the page look full when hardly anything in it is current. If something has been resolved, please let us know briefly — then we take it out straight away.
